Acting on behalf of Harworth Estates, HTA Real Estate has secured the letting of a 3,200 sq ft unit at the entrance to the Lynefield Park site in Lynemouth, Northumberland“ the site of the former Alcan smelter.
Former Durham and Kent cricketer, Ben Harmison, has set up a personal training company on the new business park, Harmison Personal Training.
Lynefield Park was set up by Harworth Estates, the former real estate arm of UK Coal, after the closure of the Rio Tinto smelter. HTA has been appointed to market the existing buildings on the site, which have already attracted a range of new tenants including Lynx Precast, H-Mix, C&J Marine and Sisk.
Ben Harmison said: The space and equipment at Lynefield Park make this an ideal location to establish Harmison Personal Training.
As well as gym membership we’re also providing boot camps and bespoke training and conditioning courses seven days a week. As site owner, Harworth Estates has been great to deal with and now that we’re up and running I’m looking forward to growing the business and creating jobs in a community I’ve always considered home.
Harworth Estates director Eddie Peat said: Demolition of the former chimneys and the subsequent clean-up of the site was an important milestone in the redevelopment of Lynefield Park. We’ve continued to work hard to promote the site’s existing units to commercial units via our agents at Cushman & Wakefield and HTA and we plan to share our draft masterplan later this year with the public.
In the meantime, we wish Ben Harmison and our other existing tenants every success as they grow their businesses and create new employment opportunities for local people.
