Newly founded door manufacturer Portico Doors has revealed plans to create a raft of jobs after establishing its new factory a 34,000 sq ft facility on a ten-year lease on Pattinson Industrial Estate in Washington.
The site has already undergone a significant investment with the installation of a paint line, a computer design aided 5 axis CNC machine, beam saw, edge bander and a PVC production line allowing Portico Doors to manufacture its products entirely on-site, before making their way to retailers.
The family run business, led by brother and sister duo Tony and Charlotte Craggs, is now looking to create 50 jobs.
Managing director Tony Craggs said: "Making this property our base is a significant step in our journey as a business. Already we have invested significant sums installing equipment, however, there remains space to increase our manufacturing capability as we grow our customer base.
"We have ambitious growth plans for the next two years and we are making strides towards achieving that already with strong initial sales and a buoyant pipeline, interest has been significant."
Nick Atkinson, director at HTA Real Estate, acted on behalf of the landlord. He said: "We're delighted to welcome Portico Doors to Walton Road. It is an excellent property with all of the facilities and amenities a growing manufacturer would need and is well-positioned with access to A1(M) and A19 providing easy transportation."
