Last Sunday four of the leading North East industrial agents committed themselves to a marathon 100 mile cycle ride from Annan on the west coast to Tynemouth on the east coast.
They were raising funds for the Northern Head and Neck Charity which aims to make life better for those diagnosed with head and neck cancer as well as heightening awareness of the disease, enabling faster detection and early stage treatment.
The team of surveyors included Richard Scott of Cushman Wakefield, Nick Atkinson of HTA, Mark Proudlock of Knight Frank and Danny Cramman of GVA.
They set off at 8.30am and completed the challenge at 5-45pm. This involved 6 hours and 47 minutes of cycling, averaging 14.8 miles per hour over the mountainous and picturesque terrain.
GVA’s Danny Cramman commented; “The trip involved just less than 7 hours in the saddle, the rest of the time being made up of check point stops, numerous wrong turns, 2 punctures and a long lunch”.
Encouragingly, the efforts of the team of intrepid surveyors raised over £2,000 for the NHNC charity, an outstanding result for a fantastic and worthy cause – well done fellows!
